welcome.

How do you begin a new blog?  That's a question that I spent over a month asking myself.

Head....meet wall.

I decided to make my first post an introduction into my mind.

Grab a snack and a drink, and let's begin!

I'm Danielle. I'm older than I'd like to admit I am, so I'll just say I'm 29. Ha!
I live in Bloomington, Indiana.  I've been here since 2006 to attend Indiana University. I have a degree in Astrophysics, with a minor in Hungarian. (I'll get to more of this in a bit!)

I'm originally from the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania.  I grew up in a small town that nobody cares about, so I just tell people I'm from Da Burgh.  I miss home, mostly because all of my family is there, and I'm 7 hours from any of them.

I have a boyfriend of many, many, many (see a pattern here?!) years, J.D.  He's a great guy, but honestly, isn't that what everyone says about their significant other?  You'll learn more about him as time goes on, if you'd like!

I work in retail.  I used to love my job, then I got a "promotion" (which really wasn't a promotion, just in theory, to a job I now do not love...).  I don't hate, hate it, but I'm very close to it.  I'm a people person, I need human interaction, and that's what my job allows me to have, but it's just not the same now.  I'm not clear with my company's "online media policy" so I just won't tell you what store I work at.  You don't need to stalk me anyhow!

I LOVE sports! Obvi, I'm a fan of everything Black and Gold.  Good season, or bad, they are my teams! What teams do you cheer for??

I was in the marching band! I played the sousaphone when I came to Indiana, and before that I had played several  instruments, starting with the alto sax, then onto the baritone sax, the euphonium, the oboe and the tuba.  J.D. is learning to play the piano, which I give him so much credit for! He's doing a fabulous job.

What or who is kicsi macska, and how do you even say that?!
- The "cs" sounds like the ch in chair. So basically kichi machka.
It's Hungarian.  Kicsi means little or small, and macska means cat. So little cat, small cat, or kitten.  I don't know why I chose it, but I tried a few names and nothing sounded quite right except for this one.
Why Hungarian?
-My father was 100% Hungarian.  He passed away about 11 years ago, so when I came to IU, and they offered Hungarian as a language, I couldn't pass it up! I'm also Russian and German, and I would like to learn more about that part of my heritage.

My goal for this blog is up in the air right now.  If you get this far, congrats! Let me know what you'd like to hear about.  I'm thinking it will be a mix of many things.   Cooking, crafts, science, general info, etc.... I have plans for a weekly post titled "Can I Make That?" where I'll try a recipe, craft, or something on Pinterest and see if I can actually do it based off of the instructions.  Sort of like the fails of Pinterest, but a bit different.

Thanks for coming on this journey with me!  I promise you it will be fun!
